My Love
by Zoe Olsen
My heart opens like a white lily
in the chilly morning sunshine,
My smile uncontained when
your whispers reach my brain
you’re my imagined embrace,
My starry night unobtained,
My mind so at ease like an
Abundant tulip field graced
With a warm breeze, And for
now our hands that are left unheld
will soon be softly intertwined,
Like a knitted scarf Beautifully
aligned.
I’m Zoe Olsen! I come from a small town of around 500 people and have been writing poetry since 8th grade. I’m currently a first year majoring in English at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I’ve always loved to write poetry and express myself and my experiences with life through the beautiful artform. I would love to one day publish a poetry book, even if it’s only once. Poetry will always be the most intertwined with my being; no matter how good I get at writing scripts, songs, or novels, poetry is what has made me, me.
