Don’t believe in faeries, don’t pray to saints
I talk to black cats and strange water snakes
Lightning flashes through the blue earth rumble
All Lifes’ mysteries, a lost child’s cry
Can you feel my soul in your bedroom dreams?
Mattress on the floor, beach house safe and white
Listen to my heart in the ocean surf
Phosphorescent in dark bubbles and kelp
I’m a memory standing in the rain
Some long forgotten poem’s dying verse
And all I want to do is hold your hand
Can you set me free unto Heaven’s night?
Lullaby surrender, the red moon sleeps
Kissing away the pain that makes me weep
