When you are lost
by Annabella Dlugi
When you are lost
I won’t be the one who finds you
Instead, I’ll be wandering
Around the grocery store,
Stuck staring
At the pasta aisle and
That stupid sauce and
Fancy teas I can’t afford
And I’ll head out, having spent
13.78 on who knows what
I only came in for bread and
Nostalgia
How else? To conjure a sense of comfort
When there is none
And the streets are unforgiving
To everyone who isn’t you.
